It's possible I might have been able to keep using version on Windows 10 doing the backup in Windows 7 dual boot but I did not want to take a chance and the price was better than the latest version. I bought it only because I need it for Windows I still have TI for Windows 7. They keep making meaningless changes to the User Interface that just make you relearn how to set it up and use it. I've used many versions of True Image Backup and never liked the interface but it's a good product maybe the best. On checkout it showed the product was used but it was new but it had something cut off the box but the Product code was inside and it looked as though the factory seal was never tampered with. What are the odds this is gonna work out in my favor? Stay away from True Image There are some issues here. I'm going to try and return this, now opened, CD envelope. But, I feel that I have wasted money on a non-functional product. What could go wrong? I'd like to install this and move on. Seriously, have customers get into the Registry?!? What are you thinking? I'm stunned that they have such a complex, and hidden, script to remove the product and edit the Registry. I'm irritated that they disabled local backups when I didn't opt to renew cloud coverage. I have never experienced a product that I couldn't remove, replace, or reinstall. I've been putzing around with Microsoft since damn near day 1. Perhaps, I think, I need to rerun the script and remove all vestiges of Acronis again, no matter how small. The install procedure sat at the Status time-bar for over an hour with no progress. Nope, it's still there OK, google 'How do I uninstall Acronis ' At least I now know this has happened to others I edit the registry and then try a fresh install from CD. Nope, Acronis uninstall said it was already gone. It would not install saying that I already had an Acronis product, the cloud product that had expired. What could go wrong? I'll even give them another go by ordering just the basic local disk storage option CD. Therefore I opted to revert to a simple local disk based backup. Their cloud offering was pretty much useless, given bandwidth limitations I kept experiencing and only token storage capacity unless I wanted to buy more. When they disabled it, I mean they wouldn't even let me do local backups.
